Quinta de Santa Marinha is a vineyard estate located near the start of the walking trail of the Ecovia do Rio Vez, by the riverside, and serves as the perfect base for adventures in the surrounding scenery between Arcos de Valdevez and Viana do Castelo, close to Sistelo and the Peneda-Gerês National Park. This small site offers limited shaded pitches for caravans and motorhomes beneath lush trees, allowing visitors to enjoy the spectacular landscape mainly composed of vineyards, primarily Chardonnay – Merlot and Loureiro (verdelho). If you prefer not to use your own facilities, there are dry toilets and an eco-friendly shower available.
The estate offers wine tastings and dishes prepared by the resident chef and owner, as well as breakfast (by reservation only). Meals are always made seasonally, using produce from the estate or as locally sourced as possible, organic where feasible, and never using out-of-season products or those that have travelled extensively. They always aim to serve the best, which may include traditional Portuguese, Spanish, French, or Italian recipes. There is a smokehouse primarily using beech wood, and a cold storage room where they prepare smoked salmon, sea bass, and other fish, as well as various meats like ham, pork loin, and bacon. The estate also has a vegetable garden which is a delight for young campers particularly fond of vegetarian dishes.
